At MLCPF, we believe that every child—no matter where they live—deserves access to healthcare and rehabilitation. That’s why our Medical Outreach Program takes vital services directly to the homes and villages of children with disabilities in and around Mbeya.
Project Objectives: MLCPF Medical Outreach Program
Improve Access to Healthcare Services
To provide free, community-based medical services (including screening, assessment, treatment, and referral) to children with disabilities and their families in underserved rural and peri-urban areas.
Enhance Rehabilitation Access through Home-Based Physiotherapy
To offer regular home-based physiotherapy and caregiver training for children with cerebral palsy and related conditions who are unable to reach formal health facilities.
Promote Early Detection and Intervention
To identify developmental delays, malnutrition, and other medical needs in children with disabilities early, enabling timely support and intervention.
Educate and Empower Caregivers
To train parents and guardians on disability management, home therapy techniques, child protection, hygiene, and nutrition for better long-term outcomes.
Strengthen Community Awareness and Inclusion
To raise awareness at the community level on disability rights, early intervention, and the importance of inclusive healthcare for children with disabilities.
